Determination, test safety, and test records. This document applies to AC voltage withstand tests on wire and cable products. This document does not apply to voltage testing of winding wire products.

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 2900.19 and GB/T 3048.1, as well as the following terms and definitions, apply to this document.
3.1 peak value The maximum voltage in a complete cycle, excluding minute high-frequency oscillations caused by non-destructive discharge.
3.2 The square root of the average of the squares of the voltage values in a complete cycle.
3.3 The peak voltage in the test was divided by 2.
Note. Relevant equipment standards may require measuring the root mean square (RMS) value of the test voltage, rather than the peak value. For example, when considering thermal effects, measuring the RMS value may be preferred. It's more meaningful.
4.1.1 Voltage Waveform
