Foreword

GB/T 12972, Flexible rubber-sheathed cables for mining purposes, is divided into 10 parts:

- Part 1: General;

- Part 2: Flexible cables for coal cutters for rated voltages up to and including 1.9/3.3 kV;

- Part 3: Reinforced screened monitoring flexible cables for coal cutters for rated voltage 0.66/1.14 kV;

- Part 4: Flexible cables with metallic screens for coal cutters for rated voltages up to and including 1.9/3.3 kV;

- Part 5: Mobile rubber-sheathed flexible cables for rated voltages up to and including 0.66/1.14 kV;

- Part 6: Flexible cables with monitoring core and metallic screens for rated voltages up to and including 6/10 kV;

- Part 7: Screened rubber-sheathed flexible cables for rated voltages up to and including 6/10 kV;

- Part 8: Mining electric drill cables for rated voltage 0.3/0.5 kV;

- Part 9: Light mobile rubber-sheathed flexible cables for mining for rated voltage 0.3/0.5 kV;

- Part 10: Miners' cap lamp cords.

This part is Part 6 of GB/T 12972.

This part replaces GB 12972.6-1991, Flexible rubber-sheathed cables for mining purposes - Part 6: Screened monitoring flexible cables for rated voltage 3.6/6 kV.

Compared with GB 12972.6-1991, the main changes in this part are as follows:

- the title has been changed to "Flexible cables with monitoring core and metallic screens for rated voltages up to and including 6/10 kV";

- flexible cables with monitoring core and metallic screens for rated voltage 6/10 kV, and the related requirements, have been added (Tables 1 and 3 of this edition);

- the range of conductor cross-sections for cables of rated voltage U0/U 3.6/6 kV has been extended from 25 mm2 to 50 mm2 to 25 mm2 to 120 mm2 (Table 2 of the 1991 edition; Table 2 of this edition);

- the content on XJ-30A insulating rubber and XJ-10A rubber has been deleted (5.3.1 and 5.5.1 of the 1991 edition);

- the partial discharge test of the cable has been changed from a sample test to a routine test (Table 4 of the 1991 edition; Table 5 of this edition);

- the cable flame test to GB/T 12666.2, Test method for vertical flame propagation of a single wire or cable, has been replaced by the test to GB/T 18380.3, Tests on electric cables under fire conditions - Part 3: Test methods for bunched wires or cables (Table 4 of the 1991 edition; 7.2 of this edition).

Annex A of this part is normative.
