1 Scope

This document defines the relevant terms used in the field of high voltage test technology and insulation coordination.

This document is applicable to the high voltage test involved in the three-phase AC system with the nominal voltage above 1kV and the DC system above 1.5kV.

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 General terms

3.1.1 High-voltage

Technologies related to high voltage, strong electric field, insulation, overvoltage, insulation coordination and high voltage test under high voltage.

In the power system, the general term for high-voltage equipment for power generation, power transmission and distribution.

3.1.3

The general term for the power equipment and equipment used in the power system for transmission, distribution of electric energy and corresponding control, measurement and protection of the power system.

A suitable and approximate voltage value used to express or identify the phase-to-phase voltage (effective value) of a three-phase system.

3.1.5 Us

Under normal operating conditions, the effective value of the highest operating voltage between phases that appears at any point in a three-phase system at any time.
