NB/T 42050-2015 is the English-translated version of 光纤复合中压电缆.

NB/T 42050-2015 is the recommended Chinese energy industry standard for optical fibre composite medium-voltage cable.

It sets the rated voltages, the models, codes, specifications and product designation, the materials, the technical requirements, marking and delivery lengths, the test requirements and test methods, the inspection rules, packaging, transport and storage, and the tests made after installation.

It covers fixed-installation extruded insulation power cables rated 3.6/6 kV to 26/35 kV with composite optical fibres, intended for the optical access of the smart distribution grid.

Cables used under special conditions fall outside it, among them overhead lines, mining, nuclear plants and their containment surroundings, and cables laid in water or on ships.

It cites the GB/T 12706, GB/T 3048 and GB/T 9771 series, GB/T 18889-2002, GB/T 19666 and IEC 61442-2005. Issued on 2 April 2015, it has applied since 1 September 2015.
