Scope

GB/T 9771.6-2020 is the English-translated version of 通信用单模光纤 第6部分:宽波长段光传输用非零色散单模光纤特性.

GB/T 9771.6-2020 is the Chinese national standard for the non-zero dispersion single-mode optical fibre for wideband optical transmission, called B5 fibre; it is Part 6 of GB/T 9771.

It sets the rounding rules, the performance requirements and the test methods, and applies to B5 fibres used in communication cables and other information transmission equipment.

The requirements cover dimensional parameters, transmission characteristics, mechanical properties and environmental performance, and the fibre keeps a non-zero dispersion value across the whole 1460 nm to 1625 nm range, which suits dense or coarse wavelength division multiplexing there.

The test methods are those of GB/T 15972, GB/T 33779.1 and ITU-T G.650.1 and G.650.2, while an informative annex maps GB/T 9771 fibre codes onto the IEC and ITU-T ones.

It replaces GB/T 9771.6-2008, was issued on 2 June 2020 and has applied since 1 January 2021.

Foreword

GB/T 9771 "Single Mode Optical Fiber for Communication" is divided into the following 7 parts.

---Part 1: Non-dispersion shifted single-mode fiber characteristics;

---Part 2: Characteristics of cut-off wavelength shifted single-mode fiber;

---Part 3: Characteristics of non-dispersion-shifted single-mode fiber with extended wavelength band;

---Part 4: Dispersion-shifted single-mode fiber characteristics;

---Part 5: Non-zero dispersion shifted single-mode fiber characteristics;

---Part 6: Characteristics of non-zero-dispersion single-mode optical fiber for wide-wavelength optical transmission;

---Part 7: Characteristics of single-mode optical fiber with insensitive bending loss for access network.

This part is Part 6 of GB/T 9771.

This section was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This part replaces GB/T 9771.6-2008 "Single-mode optical fiber for communication. Part 6: Non-zero dispersion single-mode light for wide-wavelength light transmission Fiber characteristics.

Compared with GB/T 9771.6-2008, the main technical changes in this part are as follows.

--- Added overview and contract modification rules (see Chapter 5, Chapter 6);

--- Added 200µm and 500µm coating diameters and tolerances, 200µm fiber coating/cladding concentricity error Poor requirements (see 7.1.1);

--- Modify the optical characteristics and transmission characteristics to transmission characteristics, and adjust the mode field diameter from the size parameter to the transmission characteristics (see 7.1, 7.2, 5.1 and 5.2 of the 2008 edition);

--- Increased attenuation uniformity requirements (see 7.2.4);

--- Removed the cut-off wavelength of the jumper cable (lambdacj) (see 5.2.1 of the 2008 edition);

--- Modify the WDM system to DWDM system, delete the note 2 of the longitudinal uniformity of dispersion (see 7.2.9, 2008 version 5.2.6);

--- Modify the tension value corresponding to the screening stress (see 7.3.1, 5.3.1 of the 2008 edition);

--- Removed the tensile strength requirements for gauge lengths of 1m, 10m, and 20m, and added the table note that the tensile strength value decreases with the gauge length increase Content (see 5.3.2 of the 2008 edition);

--- Revised the peeling force requirements of the coating (see 7.3.4, 6.4.3, 5.3.4, 5.4.3 of the 2008 edition);

--- Increased the requirements of environmental test at 1625nm wavelength light attenuation change (see 7.4.2).

--- Increased the correspondence between GB/T 9771 and IEC standard and ITU-T standard single-mode fiber code (see Appendix A).

1 Scope
