Foreword

This Document was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for

Standardization – Part 1.Rules for the Structure and Drafting of Standardizing Documents.

This Document replaced GB/T 16288-2008 Marking of Plastics Products. Compared with

GB/T 16288-2008, the major technical changes of this Document are as follows besides the

structural adjustments and editorial modifications.

--- Change some contents in "Supplementary Descriptions" (see 5.5 of this Edition; 5.5 of

the 2008 Edition);

--- Add "Examples of Markings" (see 5.6.5 of this Edition);

--- Change the requirements for plastic regenerants in "Marking System" (see 5.6 of this

Edition; 5.6 of the 2008 Edition);

--- Changed some material terms (see Appendix B of this Edition; Appendix A of the 2008

Edition).

This Document modified and adopted ISO 11469.2016 Plastics – Generic Identification and

Marking of Plastics Products.

Compared with ISO 11469.2016, this Document made the following structural adjustments.

--- 5.6 corresponds to Clause 5 in ISO 11469.2016, of which 5.6.1 corresponds to 5.1.1 in

ISO 11469.2016; 5.6.2 corresponds to 5.1.2 in ISO 11469.2016; 5.6.3 corresponds to

5.1.3 in ISO 11469.2016; and 5.6.4 corresponds to 5.1.4 of ISO 11469.2016.

Compared with ISO 11469.2016, this Document has many technical differences, which are

marked with a vertical single line (|) in the outer margin of the clauses involved. These technical

differences and their causes are listed in Appendix A.

The following editorial modifications have been made to this Document.

--- Delete the content of the NOTE in "Marking of Products" (see 5.1.1 of ISO 11469.2016);

--- In order to coordinate with the existing standards, the name of the standard has been

changed to Marking of Plastics Products.

Document shall not assume the responsibility to identify these patents.

This Document was proposed by China National Light Industry Council.

1 Scope

This Document specifies the requirements for the marking, size, color, quantity and setting

location of plastics products.

This Document does not apply to regulations regarding marking treatment methods or treatment

processes.

2 Normative References

The provisions in following documents become the essential provisions of this Document

through reference in this Document. For the dated documents, only the versions with the dates

indicated are applicable to this Document; for the undated documents, only the latest version

(including all the amendments) is applicable to this Document.

3 Terms and Definitions

For the purposes of this Document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 2035 and the

following apply.

Plastic products used for external medicine or implanted in the body.

4 Labels and Abbreviated Terms

The labels and abbreviated terms in this Document shall comply with the provisions of GB/T

1844 (all parts). For labels or abbreviated terms not included, the labels or abbreviated terms

specified in other national or international standards may be used.

5 Marking of Plastics Products

Necessary supplementary explanations can be made on the modification methods, processing

techniques or application fields of various types of plastics.

Molding, printing or spraying can be used; but the performances of the plastics products shall

not be damaged.
