This Standard uses the redraft law to modify and adopt ISO 105-B02.2014

"Textiles - Tests for color fastness - Part B02.Color fastness to artificial light.

Xenon arc fading lamp test".

Compared with ISO 105-B02.2014, the structural changes of this Standard are

as follows.

- EXCHANGE the positions of Clause "Principle" and Clause "Terms and

definitions";

- Delete the subclause number under 5.2.1.4, to avoid further sub-articles

under the untitled article;

- Delete the subclause number under 5.2.1.5, to avoid hanging paragraphs

and further sub-articles under the untitled article;

- Adjust "Annex D" to this Standard "Annex A", "Annex C" to this Standard

"Annex B", "Annex A" to "Annex C", and "Annex B" to "Annex D".

The technical differences between this Standard and ISO 105-B02.2014 and

their reasons are as follows.

- As for the normative references, this Standard has adjusted with technical

differences, to adapt to the technical conditions of China. The adjustments

are mainly reflected in Clause 2 "Normative references". The specific

adjustments are as follows.

 Replace ISO 105-A02 with GB/T 250 which is identical to the

international standard;

 Replace ISO 105-B08 with GB/T 730 which modifies and adopts the

international standard;

 Replace ISO 105-A01 with GB/T 6151 which modifies and adopts the

international standard;

 Replace ISO 3696 with GB/T 6682 which modifies and adopts the

international standard;

 Replace ISO 105-B05 with GB/T 8431 which is equivalent to the

international standard;

 Replace ISO 105-A05 with GB/T 32616 which modifies and adopts the

international standard;

 ADD reference to FZ/T 01047;

 Delete the reference to CIE 51;

- ADD footnote d to Table 2;

- Amend "If the necessary contrast in 8.2.5 is not achieved" in 8.2.7 to "If the

necessary contrast in 8.2.6 is not achieved";

- In Clause 10 c) and d), where the difference between the individual

assessments of the periods exceeds one half grade, change the remark

"grey scale grade of blue reference" to the remark "specific period"; and,

add the reporting of the mean assessment result of color fastness to light;

- In Clause 10 d), delete the reporting of reference sample; in e), delete the

reporting of blue wool reference;

This Standard has made the following editorial change.

- CHANGE the standard name to "Textiles - Tests for color fastness - Color

fastness to artificial light. Xenon arc".

artificial light. Xenon arc

1 Scope

This Standard specifies a method intended for determining the effect on the

color fastness of textiles of all kinds and in all forms to the action of an artificial

light source representative of natural daylight (D65).

2 Normative references

The following documents are indispensable for the application of this document.

For the dated references, only the editions with the dates indicated are

applicable to this document. For the undated references, the latest edition

(including all the amendments) are applicable to this document.

GB/T 250 Textiles - Tests for colour fastness - Grey scale for assessing

change in colour (GB/T 250-2008, ISO 105-A02.1993, IDT)

GB/T 730 Textiles - Tests for colour fastness - Quality control of Blue wool

reference materials 1 to 7 (GB/T 730-2008, ISO 105-B08.1995, MOD)

3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

Ratio of the actual water vapour pressure in the test chamber to the saturation

water vapour pressure of water at the same temperature.

A red azoic dyed cotton fabric of known sensitivity to humidity and light.

4 Principle

A specimen of the textile to be tested is exposed to artificial light under

controlled conditions, together with a set of blue wool reference materials. The

color fastness is assessed by comparing the change in color of the test

specimen with that of the reference materials used.

5 Reference materials and apparatus

One of two types shall be used, either a black-standard thermometer or a black-

panel thermometer (for more detail see C.3.) and the thermometer shall be

mounted in the same plane and orientation as the test specimen(s).

Covers shall be made from thin opaque material, for example high-grade steel,

thin sheet aluminium or cardboard covered with aluminium foil, for partial

covering of samples and blue wool references.

6 Preparation of test specimens

6.6 When testing specimens of appreciable thickness, the references shall be

arranged (for example, insert a hard card under the blue wool reference), so

that they are the same distance from the light source as the upper surface of

the test specimens. Covers for the unexposed portions shall avoid surface

compression.

Textiles of appreciable thickness with textured structure which may make

evaluation of small areas difficult, shall be tested with an exposed area not less

than 50 mm x 40 mm and preferably larger.

7 Exposure conditions

To simulate different environments testing can be carried out under different

conditions (see Table 2). The type of conditions should be agreed between

parties. The chosen conditions shall be reported.

8 Procedure

8.3.4.3 Place the masked card in the test chamber and expose the masked card

to light under the selected exposure conditions in Table 2 until the contrast

between the unexposed and exposed portions of the target blue wool reference

is equal to a grey scale grade 4 (5.2.9) (first period).

8.3.4.5 Replace the masked card in the test chamber and continue to expose

until the contrast between the exposed and unexposed portions of the target

blue wool reference is equal to grey scale grade 3 (5.2.9) (second period).

9 Assessment of color fastness to light

Comparison of the changes in the test specimen with changes in the blue wool

references shall be facilitated by surrounding the specimen with an assessment

mask (5.2.8).
