Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 17392-2008 "Fabrics for National Flags". Compared with GB/T 17392-2008, the main differences are in structural adjustments and editorial changes. Aside from the modifications, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) Acrylic fabrics have been removed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2008 edition);

b) The definition of fabrics used for national flags has been changed (see 3.1,.2008 edition of 3.1);

c) The requirements for acrylic fibers have been removed, as have the requirements for "yarn count" and "finished product density" (see Chapter 4 of the.2008 edition);

d) Change "Tearing Strength" to "Tearing Power" and modify the "Tearing Power" requirement for silk fabrics; change "Mass per Unit Area" to... The "unit area quality deviation rate" requirement is shown in Table 1 (Table 1,.2008 edition).

e) The "tear strength" requirement for national flag fabrics has been added, and the appearance quality requirements have been changed (see Table 1,

4.2 of the.2008 edition);

f) Added requirements for the color and color difference of fabrics used for the national flag (see 4.2);

g) Increased requirements for colorfastness of fabrics used for national flags (see 4.3);

h) The testing methods for national flag fabrics have been changed (see Chapter 5, Chapter 5 of the.2008 edition);

i) The inspection rules for fabrics used for the national flag have been changed (see Chapter 6, Chapter 6 of the.2008 edition);

j) The requirements for packaging and labeling of national flag fabrics have been changed (see Chapter 7, Chapter 7 of the.2008 edition). 1 Scope

GB/T 17392-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering the cloth a national flag is made from - the fibre and construction, the colour and its fastness to light, rain and washing, the strength and tear resistance of a fabric that flies in the wind for months. It replaces GB/T 17392-2008, revised with the flagpole standard GB/T 18302-2026. It was issued on 28 January 2026 and has been in force since 1 August 2026, replacing GB/T 17392-2008. The document is under the responsibility of the Standardization Administration of China.
