Scope

GB/T 26382-2024 is the English-translated version of 精梳毛织品.

GB/T 26382-2024 is the Chinese product standard for worsted fabrics: the cloth woven from combed wool that suiting, uniform and fine tailoring are made from. It is the counterpart to the woollen fabric standard, and the distinction matters commercially because worsted commands a much higher price and is correspondingly more often misdescribed. The standard sets the classification and grading, the requirements on the fibre content and its tolerance, which is where a blend is checked against its label, the physical requirements including mass per unit area, width, breaking and tearing strength, pilling, abrasion resistance, dimensional change on washing and on dry cleaning and the shrinkage after steam pressing, the colour fastness to light, washing, dry cleaning, water, perspiration and rubbing, the appearance quality and the counting and grading of defects, the limits on formaldehyde, pH and decomposable aromatic amines, together with the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport and storage. The 2024 edition replaces GB/T 26382-2011.

1 Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements, inspection rules, and packaging and marking requirements of worsted fabric, and also describes the corresponding test methods.

This document is applicable to the quality identification of worsted wool, and blends and intertexture with a wool and hair content of no less than 30% for use in all types of woven garments.
