Foreword

This document was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020 "Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents".

This document replaces GB/T 38300-2019 "Protective clothing - Ensembles and garments for protection against cold environment". Compared with GB/T 38300-2019, apart from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

— the terms "comprehensive effective thermal insulation", "required thermal insulation", "air permeability" and "resistance to hydrostatic pressure" have been deleted (see 3.7, 3.8, 3.10 and 3.11 of the 2019 edition), and the terms "total thermal insulation" and "air thermal insulation" have been added (see 3.5 and 3.6);

— the method of expressing the classification of effective thermal insulation has been changed (see Table 1; Table 2 of the 2019 edition);

— the numbering of the air permeability classes has been changed (see Table 2; Table 3 of the 2019 edition);

— the tear strength requirement has been changed (see 4.6.2; 4.6 of the 2019 edition);

— requirements for breaking strength, bursting strength, flex resistance, dimensional change and filling material have been added (see 4.6.3 to 4.6.6 and 4.8);

— requirements for colour fastness to light and colour fastness to washing have been added (see Table 5);

— the calculation model for effective thermal insulation has been changed (see 5.1; Annex A of the 2019 edition);

— information on the composition of the fabric and filling material, the shelf life of the product and similar items has been added to the marking (see Clause 6).
