Foreword

This document was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents.

This document replaces GB 24539-2021 Protective clothing - Chemical protective clothing and GB/T 23462-2009 Protective clothing - Test method for permeation of chemicals. Compared with GB 24539-2021 and GB/T 23462-2009, apart from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) the scope has been changed (see Clause 1; Clause 1 of GB 24539-2021);

b) some terms and definitions have been added and changed (see Clause 3; Clause 3 of GB 24539-2021);

c) the types and designations have been changed (see Clause 4; Clause 4 of GB 24539-2021);

d) technical requirements for partial body chemical protective clothing have been added (see 5.1.9);

e) the technical requirements for permeation performance have been changed (see 5.2.3.1; 5.3.3.1 of GB 24539-2021);

f) the technical requirements for abrasion resistance have been changed (see 5.2.4.1; 5.3.4.1 of GB 24539-2021);

g) the test method for the decrease rate of breaking strength of fabrics for acid and alkali protective clothing has been changed (see 6.26; 6.25 of GB 24539-2021);

h) the marking and packaging have been changed (see Clause 7; Clause 7 of GB 24539-2021);

i) test methods for the permeation of chemicals have been added and changed (see Annex F; GB/T 23462-2009);

j) the test method for resistance to penetration by liquids under pressure has been changed (see Annex G; Annex F of GB 24539-2021);

k) the test method for the liquid repellency of chemical protective clothing fabrics has been changed (see Annex J; Annex I of GB 24539-2021).

This document was proposed by and is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Emergency Management of the People's Republic of China.

The previous editions of this document and of the documents it replaces are as follows:

- first issued in 2009 as GB 24539-2009;

- at the first revision in 2021, the contents of GB 24540-2009 Protective clothing - Acid and alkali chemical protective clothing (first issued in 2009) and GB/T 29511-2013 Protective clothing - Protective clothing against solid particulate chemicals (first issued in 2013) were incorporated;

- this is the second revision, incorporating the contents of GB/T 23462-2009 (first issued in 2009).
