Foreword

This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. The code 128 which is specified in this Standard is an application subset of GB/T 18347 "Code 128". This Standard replaces GB/T 15425-2002, "UCC/EAN - 128 bar code"; compared with GB/T 15425-2002, the major technical changes are as follows: -- Change the standard name to "Bar code for commodity - 128 bar code"; -- Modify the name of the standardization organization in the Standard accordingly because the international organization EAN·UCC was renamed GS1; -- Add an application example of the minimum symbol length rule in the informative Appendix A; -- Make editorial changes according to the new version of "GS

1 Specification (V10)". This Standard is revised by referring to "Linear Bar Code -- GS1-128 Code Specification", Section 4 of Chapter 5 of "GS

1 Specification (V10)" which is formulated by GS1, and according to the practical situation of our country. This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee 267 on Logistics Information Management of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 267). 1 Scope

GB/T 15425-2014 is the Chinese national standard on bar code for commodity-128 bar code, in the field of information technology. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 3 September 2014 by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 February 2015. The clause text, the tables and the numeric limits are in the document itself, which is delivered complete in English translation.

This Standard specifies contents such as the structure, bar code character set, bar code symbol dimension, quality assurance of GS1 system code 128 (hereinafter referred to as GS1-128 code), and the application parameters, character string encoding and decoding rules of GS1-128 code.

3 Terms and definitions

Terms and definitions determined by GB 12904 and GB/T 12905 are applicable to this document.

4 Requirements

The composition of the GS1-128 code symbol, from left to right, is shown as follows: The function character is used to indicate allowed special operations or applications to the bar code scanner, among which.

5 Application parameters of GS1-128 code

The length of the GS1-128 code symbol depends on the number of encoded characters. Evaluate the symbol quality in the form of symbol grade; the definition of its parameters shall be in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 18348.

6 GS1-128 code character string encoding/decoding rules

For the link of variable-length character string (referring to the case where the first 2 bits of all application identifiers are not included in Table 4), data separating characters are required. The preferred position of the GS1-128 code (additional bar code) that represents additional information shall be on the same horizontal line as the independent bar code (main bar code) that contains GTIN, SSCC or other GS1 codes; the additional bar code shall be as close to the main bar code as possible under the prefix of a clear area that does not affect the main bar code.

Appendix A

(Informative) GS1-128 code symbol length minimum character set selection and application examples In the GS1-128 code symbol (or other code 128), the same data can be expressed differently by using different combinations of start, switch and escape characters.

Appendix B

(Informative) Relationship between bar code character value and ASCII value The transition relation between bar code character value (S) and ASCII value is as follows:
