Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part
1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents". Drafting is required. This document replaces GB/T 14257-2009 "Guidelines for the placement of barcode symbols for commodity barcodes". In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
a) Added the terms and definitions of "barcode", "product barcode" and "product QR code" (see Chapter 3);
b) Added QR code related requirements (see Chapter 4);
c) Added the requirement for simultaneous placement of one-dimensional barcodes and product two-dimensional code symbols (see 5.4);
d) Added the legend for QR codes, and added the requirements and legend for packaging with uncertain barcode symbol positions (see 5.5);
e) Added the requirements for barcode symbol length (see Appendix A);
f) Added placement of human-readable characters (see Appendix B). Please note that some of the contents of this document may involve patents. The issuing organization of this document does not assume the responsibility for identifying patents. This document is proposed and coordinated by the National Logistics Information Management Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC267). 3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB 12904, GB/T 12905 and the following apply to this document.
3.1 The main display surface of the product packaging that mainly displays the trademark and product name.
3.2 The outer surface of the product packaging opposite to the main display surface.
