Scope
GB/T 40098-2021 is the English-translated version of 电动汽车更换用动力蓄电池箱编码规则.
GB/T 40098-2021 sets out a uniform coding system for the swappable power battery packs of electric vehicles. It gives the basic rules, the code structure and the data carrier, and applies to the use, maintenance, management and traceability of battery packs used in battery swapping mode.
The code fields include the pack's nominal voltage, connector, locking mechanism and casing structure, written with digits or capital letters, avoiding letters easily confused with numbers such as O, I, Q, S and Z. At least one data carrier is required: a one-dimensional bar code under GB/T 18347 and GB/T 15425, or a QR code under GB/T 18284 and ISO/IEC 16022.
An informative annex gives a coding example. It was issued on 21 May 2021 and has applied since 1 December 2021.
