Scope

GB/T 31005-2014 is the English-translated version of 托盘编码及条码表示.

GB/T 31005-2014 fixes how a reusable pallet is numbered and how that number is marked on it.

Clause 1 states that it specifies the coding rules for the single reusable pallet, the symbol representation of the coded information, the technical requirements for automatic data collection and the placement of the label, and that it applies to the coding and identification of reusable pallets in logistics operations so that they can be managed while leased and identified automatically; it excludes expressly the identification of the trade items carried on the pallet and of the logistics unit.

Clause 2 cites GB/T 3716, GB 12904-2008, GB/T 12905, GB/T 15425, GB/T 16986, GB/T 18348 and ISO/IEC 18000-63, and clause 3 adds no term of its own, adopting those defined in GB/T 12905 and GB/T 3716.

The table of contents gives an introduction, clause 1 Scope, clause 2 Normative references, clause 3 Terms and definitions, clause 4 encoding with 4.1 Code Structure and 4.2 on the coding rules, then clause 5 on the representation of the code, clause 6 on the technical requirements of the code symbol with 6.1 Overview, 6.2 size requirements, 6.3 Symbols Level and 6.4 Testing and quality evaluation, and clause 7 on the placement of the code symbol, the draft garbling the wording of those three headings, followed by normative Appendix A on the RFID-based pallet code structure and its technical requirements and informative Annex B with an application example.

Clause 4.1 states that the bar code of a reusable pallet is built from the Application Identifier (AI), the reusable pallet coding and a serial number and comes in four structures set out in Table 1, the first of which is AI 8003 followed by a filling bit, a seven-digit pallet vendor identification code, a five-digit category code, a check digit and a ten-character serial number.

The draft breaks off inside Table 1, so the other three structures, the coding rules of 4.2 and everything from clause 5 onward are not shown.

The foreword states that the standard was drawn up with reference to the GS1 General Specifications (10.0) of the International Article Numbering Association GS1 together with China's own conditions, and that its technical content and technical requirements are consistent with the international norms; it is kept by the National Logistics Information Management Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC267).

It carries ICS 35.040 and Chinese classification A24, with about 13,185 words estimated, and the page marks the English edition on offer as including the 2019XG1 amendment.

It was issued on 3 September 2014 and has applied since 1 February 2015; the page does not say which edition it replaces.
