Scope

GB/T 36080-2018 is the English-translated version of 条码技术在农产品冷链物流过程中的应用规范.

GB/T 36080-2018 explains how barcodes are applied in the cold chain logistics of agricultural products. It sets the encoding rules for the encoded objects: trade items, cold chain logistics units, participants, facilities and equipment, and additional attribute information.

It then fixes the symbols to use, with EAN/UPC, ITF-14 and GS1-128 as one-dimensional codes and Han Xin code, QR code and Data Matrix as two-dimensional codes, and the requirements for label materials, test and print quality evaluation.

It applies to the key links of the chain: acquisition, processing, frozen storage, cold chain transport and distribution, and refrigerated sales. A normative annex maps the cold chain process and the objects encoded at each step, and an informative annex works through the coding of fresh pork. It was issued on 15 March 2018 and has applied since 1 October 2018.

1 Scope

This Standard specifies the coding rules, symbol representation, test, and quality evaluation of barcode technology in cold chain logistics process of agricultural products.

This Standard applies to the application of barcode technology in key cold chain logistics links such as agricultural product acquisition, processing, frozen storage, cold chain transportation and distribution, and refrigerated sales.

3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions, as well as those given in GB/T 12905-2000 and GB/T 28577-2012, apply. For ease of use, some terms and definitions from GB/T 12905-2000 and GB/T 28577-2012 are repeated below.

3.1 Barcode

A marking consisting of a set of regularly arranged bars, spaces, and their corresponding characters, which is used to represent certain information. [GB/T 12905-2000, definition 2.1]

3.2 Cold chain logistics

The logistics activities - with freezing technology as the basis and refrigeration technology as the means - that ensure that cold chain goods are kept in a specified temperature environment throughout all stages from production, distribution, sales to consumption, so as to guarantee the quality and reduce losses of cold chain goods. 4 Encoding rules

4.1 Encoded object

The encoded objects of the cold chain logistics of agricultural products include information related to logistics objects, logistics facilities and equipment, as well as logistics participants, in the process of agricultural product acquisition, processing, storage in freezing room, cold chain transportation and distribution, and refrigerated sales. The process of the cold chain logistics of agricultural products and the encoded objects of each link are shown in Appendix A, and applications examples of encoding of cold chain logistics of agricultural products are shown in Appendix B.

5 Symbol representation

5.1 One-dimensional bar code

5.1.1 EAN/UPC code

The trade item number of agricultural products used for retail scanning settlement shall be represented by an EAN/UPC code and shall comply with the requirements of GB 12904.

5.1.2 ITF-14 code

The trade item number of agricultural products used for non-retail scanning settlement during storage and transportation shall be represented by an ITF-14 code and shall comply with the requirements of GB/T 16830.

5.1.3 GS1-128 code

The identification code for cold chain logistics units of agricultural products, the code for participants in cold chain logistics of agricultural products, the code for facilities and equipment in cold chain logistics of agricultural products, and the code for additional attribute information of agricultural products shall be represented by GS1-128 code and shall comply with the requirements of GB/T 15425.

5.2 Two-dimensional bar code

5.2.1 Han Xin code

The two-dimensional code symbols used in the cold chain logistics of agricultural products shall be represented by Han Xin code and shall comply with the requirements of GB/T 21049.

5.2.2 QR code

The two-dimensional code symbols used in the cold chain logistics of agricultural products shall be represented by QR code and shall comply with the requirements of GB/T 18284.

5.2.3 Data Matrix code

The two-dimensional code symbols used in the cold chain logistics of agricultural products shall be represented by Data Matrix code and shall comply with the requirements of ISO/IEC 16022.

6 Test and quality evaluation

The material selection and design of barcode labels shall meet the requirements for environment in the cold chain logistics of agricultural products, and shall not produce defects such as displacement, wrinkles, deformation, damage, blister, or void that affect the readability of barcode symbols during frozen processing, frozen storage, refrigerated transportation, and refrigerated sales. See Appendix B for application examples of barcode labels.

For the test and quality evaluation of one-dimensional bar code symbols, refer to GB/T 18348; for the test and quality evaluation of two-dimensional bar code symbols, refer to GB/T 23704.

Appendix A (Normative) Cold chain logistics process and encoded objects of agricultural products

A.1 Flowchart of cold chain logistics flowchart of agricultural products

See Figure A.1 for the flowchart of cold chain logistics of agricultural products.

A.2 Encoded objects in agricultural product acquisition

Agricultural product acquirers, such as farms, plants, and fishing vessels, who are responsible for the planting, breeding, fishing, and harvesting of agricultural products, are participants in the cold chain logistics of agricultural products. The encoded objects in the acquisition link of agricultural products shall include the identity and location information of the agricultural product acquirer and the information of the agricultural product.

A.3 Encoded objects in agricultural product processing

The encoded objects in agricultural product processing and production shall include, but are not limited to, agricultural product trade items and the identity and location information of agricultural product processors and producers after processing and production.

A.4 Encoded objects in frozen storage of agricultural products

The encoded objects in frozen storage of agricultural products mainly include the cold chain logistics storage units of agricultural products, the facilities and equipment used for frozen storage operations, and the identity and location information of the agricultural product processing and production enterprises and logistics service providers that are the main implementers of frozen storage logistics operations of agricultural products.
