Scope

GB/T 21049-2022 is the English-translated version of 汉信码.

GB/T 21049-2022 is the Chinese national standard for the Han Xin Code, the two-dimensional bar code designed to carry Chinese characters.

It specifies the characteristics and structure of the symbol, the encoding of the data and the way it is represented in the symbol, the printing of the symbol, its quality, the decoding process and the reference decoding algorithm, and the transmission of the decoded data.

It applies to automatic identification and data capture. Software houses that generate or read the symbol, printer makers and the users who put the code on a document or a product use it.

It replaces GB/T 21049-2007, was issued on 9 March 2022 and has applied since 1 October 2022.
