Scope

GB/T 3512-2026 is the English-translated version of 硫化橡胶或热塑性橡胶 热空气加速老化和耐热试验.

Rubber products change over time when exposed to heat and oxygen, and this standard covers accelerated ageing and heat resistance tests carried out in hot air for vulcanized and thermoplastic rubber. Such tests are a common way to compare materials and to check whether a compound keeps its properties after thermal exposure. The document is a recommended national standard.

Rubber compounders, seal and hose makers, automotive and industrial component suppliers, independent test laboratories and materials engineers are the typical readers. Purchasers who write ageing requirements into material specifications can also use it to define the test procedure behind them.

The 2026 edition was issued on 2 July 2026 and applies from 1 February 2027. It replaces GB/T 3512-2014. Laboratories accredited to the previous edition should review their methods and reporting templates in good time before the effective date.
