Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

Drafting.

This document replaces GB/T 33525-2017 "Performance Categories of Conveyor Belt Cover Layers". Compared with GB/T 33525-2017, except for the following.

Aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) The scope has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 2017 edition);

b) Terms and definitions have been changed (see Chapter 3, Chapter 3 of the 2017 edition);

c) The conveyor belt category has been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 4 in the 2017 edition);

d) The test method was changed (see Chapter 5, Chapter 5 of the 2017 edition).

This document is modified to adopt ISO 10247:1990 "Performance categories of conveyor belt cover".

This document has undergone the following structural changes compared to ISO 10247:1990.

---Merge sections 5.1.1 to 5.1.4 into 5.1;

---Merge sections 5.2.1 to 5.2.4 into 5.2;

---Change Appendix A (Informative) to References.

The technical differences between this document and ISO 10247:1990, and the reasons therefor, are as follows.

---The normative reference GB/T 5756 (see 3.1) has been added to adapt to my country's technical conditions and increase operability;

---ISO 37 (see 5.1) has been replaced with the normatively referenced GB/T 528 to adapt to my country's technical conditions and increase operability;

---ISO 188 (see 5.3) has been replaced with the normatively referenced GB/T 3512 to adapt to my country's technical conditions and increase operability;

---ISO 4649:1985 (see 5.2) has been replaced with the normatively referenced GB/T 9867-2008 to adapt to my country's technical requirements.

Add components to increase operability;

---Add conveyor belt category D (see 3.4, Table 1) to adapt to my country's technical conditions and increase operability;

---Change the note in Table 1 to 5.3 (see Table 1, 5.3).

The following editorial changes have been made to this document.

---Incorporates the amendments to ISO 10247:1990/Amd1.2006, with the relevant clauses placed in vertical margins.

The double lines (||) are used to indicate this.

---ISO 21183-1 (see Chapter 1) has been replaced with GB/T 39825 (reference standard) to adapt to my country's technical conditions, and additional standards have been added.

1 Scope

This document defines the performance categories of fabric-core or metal-core conveyor belt cover layers for general purposes and specifies the performance requirements for each category.

Requirements and corresponding test methods.

This document applies to general-purpose conveyor belts with fabric cores or metal cores, but not to light-duty conveyor belts specified in GB/T 39825.

Note. There is no regular relationship between the results of this test and the performance of the conveyor belt.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 5756 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Conveyor belts with this type of cover can be used to transport sharp and abrasive materials that cause severe damage to the conveyor belt.

Note. Examples include unprocessed metallic ores, unprocessed limestone, unprocessed granite, quartz, blast furnace slag, crushed metallic ores, and unprocessed sandstone.

Gravel, slate, coke (cooled), broken glass and pebbles.

Conveyor belts with this type of cover can be used to transport highly abrasive materials. The definition of highly abrasive materials is empirically determined in various situations.

Conveyor belts with this type of cover can be used to transport the following types of materials.

a) Moderately abrasive materials;

Note. Such as rubber, sand (angular), superphosphate (lumps or powder), bone products, coal (surface layer), ash, quicklime and cement (unground).

b) Dry material with slight or no wear.

Note. This includes materials such as smooth sand, polished cement, clay, quicklime, activated carbon, grains, vegetables, fruits, flour, dry powders (that do not react chemically), sawdust, and paper.
