Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted. GB/T 13923 "Basic Geographic Information Element Classification and Code" and GB/T 20257 "National Basic Scale Map Schema" and GB/T 20258 "Basic Geographic Information Elements Data Dictionary" together constitute the support for the national basic scale map and basic geographic information measurement, construction and construction. The basic national standard system for establishing, updating and applying service work needs to be used together. This document replaces GB/T 13923-2006 "Basic Geographic Information Element Classification and Code", compared with GB/T 13923-2006, except Major technical changes other than editorial revisions are as follows:

1 Scope

GB/T 13923-2022 is the Chinese national standard on classification and codes for fundamental geographic information feature, in the field of natural and applied sciences. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 15 April 2022 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 November 2022. 4 Classification and coding principles
