Scope
GB/T 43826-2024 is the English-translated version of 林草物联网 标识分配规则.
GB/T 43826-2024 sets the rules by which object identifiers are assigned in the Chinese forestry and grassland internet of things. An identifier scheme is the least glamorous and most load-bearing part of any large sensing network: every device, every managed object and every data resource in a system that spans a national forest estate has to carry an identifier that is unique, allocable by delegation and stable for decades, or the data cannot be joined at all. The standard sets the general requirements, the allocation structure and the coding requirements; then the numbering of the managing and operating organisations and the allocation of identifiers to subordinate organisations, which is how the delegation works; then the numbering of business entities and the allocation of their object identifiers; and then the assignment requirements for data resource object identifiers. It is the companion to the other standards of the forestry and grassland internet of things series, and for anyone building systems that must interoperate with the Chinese forestry data infrastructure it is the document that decides whether their identifiers will be accepted.

1 Scope
GB/T 43826-2024 sets the rules by which object identifiers are assigned in the Chinese forestry and grassland internet of things. An identifier scheme is the least glamorous and most load-bearing part of any large sensing network: every device, every managed object and every data resource in a system that spans a national forest estate has to carry an identifier that is unique, allocable by delegation and stable for decades, or the data cannot be joined at all. It is the companion to the other standards of the forestry and grassland internet of things series, and for anyone building systems that must interoperate with the Chinese forestry data infrastructure it is the document that decides whether their identifiers will be accepted.
This document provides the general requirements for the allocation of forest and grassland IoT identifiers, and provides specific requirements for forest and grassland management and operation organizations, business entity objects, and data resources. Requirements are specified for the assignment of identities to source objects, security authentication objects, and communication information protocols. This document is applicable to guiding the design, development, operation and maintenance management of various information systems of forestry and grassland Internet of Things.
