Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules for Standardization Documents" drafting. This document replaces GB/T 18513-2001 "Names of Main Imported Timbers in China". Compared with GB/T 18513-2001, except for structural adjustment In addition to the adjustment and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

1 Scope

GB/T 18513-2022 is the Chinese national standard on names of main woods imported into china, in the field of wood technology. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 30 December 2022 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 July 2023. Classification: ICS 79.040, CCS B60. 4 Timber name

4.1 Coniferous timber There are 23 names of coniferous trees, including 63 species of coniferous trees in 5 families, 23 genera (see Table 1).

4.2 Hardwoods There are 365 names of broad-leaved trees, including 971 species of broad-leaved trees in 85 families, 378 genera (see Table 2).
