Scope

GB/T 36407-2018 is the English-translated version of 机械应力分级锯材.

GB/T 36407-2018 covers machine stress graded lumber, that is, sawn timber graded by non-destructive machine testing of its bending strength and modulus of elasticity and meeting the visual defect limits of its grade.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of mechanical stress graded sawn timber, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and Storage and quality control methods.

This standard is applicable to coniferous sawn timber products that have been surface-treated after drying and meet the standard size requirements. Other tree species or non The standard size can be referred to under the same conditions.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Machine stress graded lumber

The non-destructive test is carried out on the sawn timber by mechanical stress measuring equipment, and the strength is determined according to the measured bending strength and elastic modulus of the sawn timber. Sawn timber that is graded and meets the permissible limits for visual defects of the corresponding grade.

3.2 Visual defect tolerance limit

Various visual defects of mechanical stress graded sawn timber and their allowable limits.

3.3 Maximum strength reduction defect

Natural or processing defects that cause the greatest reduction in the strength of the sawn timber, such as knots, cracks, decay, and oblique texture.

3.4 Grading machine

A device capable of testing the elastic modulus of a sawn timber and distinguishing the mechanical properties of the sawn timber.

3.5 Narrow-faced flexural modulus of elasticity

The ratio of stress to strain in the proportional limit range when a bending load is applied to the narrow side of the sawn timber.
