Foreword

GB/T 15036 "Solid Wood Flooring" is divided into two parts.

--- Part 1. Technical requirements;

--- Part 2. Test methods. This part is the first part of GB/T 15036. This part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This part replaces GB/T 15036.1-2009 "Solid wood flooring Part 1. Technical requirements". With GB/T 15036.1-2009 The main changes are as follows:

--- Add content to modify terms and definitions (see Chapter 3);

--- Increased classification by processing technology (see 4.4);

---Modified wood floor width deviation requirements (see 5.2.1,

1 Scope

China's national technical requirements for solid wood flooring. It is Part 1 of GB/T 15036 and specifies the terms and definitions, the classification, the requirements and the packaging, marking, transport and storage, applying to flooring machined directly from a single piece of wood, without splicing and without an overlay. That scope is the point of the document. Solid wood flooring competes on a shelf with engineered flooring, laminate and bamboo, all of which look similar when laid and cost less, and the distinction the standard draws - one piece of wood, not spliced, not veneered - is what a buyer is paying the difference for. What follows from it is a set of requirements that a manufactured board does not have to meet in the same way. Wood moves with moisture and a solid board moves more than a layered one, because a plywood or engineered core is deliberately built to cancel that movement; so the moisture content at delivery is the central requirement here, and it has to be matched to the region where the floor will be laid rather than set as a single national figure. Around it sit the dimensional and shape tolerances - thickness, width, length, squareness, straightness, and the fit of the tongue and groove, which is what decides whether the floor closes up - the appearance grading with its permitted defects by grade, the surface coating adhesion, hardness and abrasion resistance where the board is prefinished, and the formaldehyde emission for the coated types. The inspection methods are in Part 2. Issued on 13 July 2018 and in force since 1 February 2019, it replaces GB/T 15036.1-2009.

This part of GB/T 15036 specifies the terms and definitions, classification, requirements and packaging, marking, transportation and storage of solid wood flooring. This section applies to floors that have been directly processed from a single piece of wood that has not been spliced or covered.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions as defined in GB/T 4823-2013 and GB/T 18103-2013 apply to this document.

3.1 Solid wood flooring A floor that is directly processed from a single piece of wood that has not been spliced and covered.
