Scope

GB/T 22517.1-2024 is the English-translated version of 体育场地使用要求及检验方法 第1部分:综合体育场馆木地板场地.

GB/T 22517.1-2024 sets the requirements and test methods for the timber sports floor of a multipurpose gymnasium. A sports floor is a mechanical system rather than a surface: what protects a player's joints is the shock absorption of the sprung construction beneath the boards, what determines ball sports is the vertical deformation and the ball rebound, and what causes injuries when it is wrong is the friction, too little and players slip, too much and they catch. The standard sets the categories of floor, then the requirements: the basic requirements, the appearance of the finished court, the physical and chemical properties of the timber and the finish, and the sports performance of the assembled system, shock absorption, vertical deformation, ball rebound, sliding friction, rolling load, area deflection and surface planarity, together with the formaldehyde and volatile emissions and the fire behaviour. It then gives the test methods for each of those, the inspection rules and the acceptance of a completed installation. It takes effect on 1 February 2025.
