Scope
GB/T 35601-2024 is the English-translated version of 绿色产品评价 人造板和木质地板.
China's national standard for assessing wood-based panels and wooden flooring as green products. It specifies the terms and definitions, the assessment requirements and the assessment methods, with an informative annex giving quality evaluation criteria for the main products. Green product assessment in the Chinese scheme is broader than a single-issue label: a product is judged across its resource use, its energy use, its emissions and its environmental and quality performance together, so that a panel cannot qualify by being low in formaldehyde while wasting fibre. For wood-based panels the emissions question dominates, because these are the products through which formaldehyde enters indoor air, and the Chinese limits have tightened repeatedly. But the resource question is arguably larger: particleboard and fibreboard are made from residues, thinnings and recovered wood, so they are the route by which material that would otherwise be burned becomes furniture and flooring.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part
1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 35601-2017 "Green Product Evaluation of Wood-Based Panels and Wood Floors" and is consistent with GB/T 35601-2017. In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
a) The definition of "artificial board" has been changed (see 3.1,
3.1 of the.2017 edition);
b) The definition of "green product" has been deleted (see
3.3 of the.2017 edition);
c) The basic requirements have been changed (see 4.1.1, 4.1.3, 4.1.4, and
4.1 of the.2017 edition);
d) Change "benchmark value" to "evaluation index requirement" (see Table 1, Table 1 of the.2017 edition);
e) Added "green benchmark products" and their "evaluation index requirements" (see Table 1, Table 1 of the.2017 edition);
f) Changed the evaluation indicators and judgment basis for the requirements of raw materials such as wood, adhesives and coatings in "Resource Attributes" (See Table 1, Table 1 of the.2017 edition);
g) Deleted the evaluation indicators and judgment basis of preservatives and pesticides, flame retardants and dyes in the "resource attributes" (see the.2017 edition of Table 1);
h) Changed the evaluation index and judgment basis of energy consumption of wood-based panels and wooden floors in "Energy attributes" (see Table 1,.2017 edition Table 1);
i) The evaluation indicators and judgment basis of "environmental attributes" have been changed (see Table 1, Table 1 of the.2017 edition);
1 Scope
This document specifies the evaluation requirements for green products of wood-based panels and wood flooring and describes the corresponding evaluation methods. This document is applicable to the green product evaluation of indoor artificial boards and wooden floors.
