3.2.28 clock frequency
The fundamental frequency of any signal used in the EUT, except for signals used only within integrated circuits (IC) and for radio transmitters or receivers.
NOTE. high frequencies are typically generated from a relatively low clock frequency outside the
IC via a phase-locked loop (PLL) circuit within the IC.

4 Apparatus Classification
4.1 The equipment covered in this document is subdivided into several categories. For each category, specific requirements are defined.
4.2 Category I. equipment without electronic control circuit.
EXAMPLE. electrical appliances, tools and toys containing no electronic control circuit, and only electromechanical components, such as switches, thermostats, brushed motors, induction motors, heating elements, and lighting toys containing only batteries and light-emitting diodes.
Circuits consisting of passive components (such as capacitors or inductors for suppressing radio interference, power transformers, and power frequency rectifiers) are not considered electronic control circuits.
4.3 Category II. mains operated equipment containing electronic control circuits with a
maximum clock frequency not exceeding 15 MHz.
4.4 Category III. battery operated equipment not included in Category I.
EXAMPLE. battery powered electrical appliances, tools and toys containing a microprocessor that provides function selection.
NOTE. Category III classification is independent of clock frequency.
This category also includes equipment equipped with rechargeable batteries that can be charged directly or indirectly from the power grid. Therefore, the equipment shall also meet the test requirements for mains operated equipment, but only during charging.
If the equipment continues to function as intended after being directly or indirectly connected to the grid, this condition is not considered battery operated. Therefore, it shall be classified as
Category II, Category IV or Category V as appropriate, and meet the corresponding test requirements during mains operation.
4.5 Category IV. mains operated equipment containing electronic control circuits with a
maximum clock frequency greater than 15 MHz and less than or equal to 200 MHz.
4.6 Category V. mains operated equipment containing electronic control circuits with a
maximum clock frequency greater than 200 MHz.
5 Tests
5.1 Electrostatic Discharge
Electrostatic discharge tests (air discharge, direct and indirect contact discharge, as applicable) shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the basic standard GB/T 17626.2-2018 and the test signals and test conditions given in Table 1.
Table 1 -- Enclosure Port
Perform 20 discharges (10 positive, 10 negative) at each selected discharge point. Testing is not required for voltages other than those listed in Table 1 (lower voltages).
The discharge application point shall be determined in accordance with the requirements of
GB/T 17626.2-2018.
5.2 Electrical Fast Transient
The electrical fast transient test shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the basic standard GB/T 17626.4-2018 and the requirements of Table 2 to Table 4.The test shall be performed for 2 minutes each in both positive and negative polarities.
be tested in all relevant operating modes associated with its intended use.
To reduce the volume of testing, it is recommended to select one or multiple operating modes that allow multiple functions to be operated during each test.
NOTE 2.an operating mode may consist of a combination of different functions simultaneously operating (e.g., for a vacuum cleaner, alongside the suction function, the nozzle function for beating the carpet may operate).
NOTE 3.certain functions may only simultaneously operate (e.g., the heating function of some heating appliances operates only in conjunction with the ventilation function, which maintains the heating element within the appropriate temperature range).
Unless otherwise specified in this document, during testing, the equipment shall operate under the load and environmental conditions specified in Appendix A of GB 4343.1-2024.
NOTE 4.for example, tumble dryers need to be equipped with the same cotton fabric pieces as those specified in A.1.12 of GB 4343.1-2024 and run under load.
Where test conditions are not specified in CISPR 14-1, they shall primarily be obtained from the instructions for use. Alternatively, selected modes of the EUT may be set in a random sequence during the application of continuous RF disturbances (electromagnetic field application and current injection) to ensure that the operator does not influence the results.
NOTE 5.see 8.6 for equipment with functions falling within the scope of different standards.
8.2 Mains Operation
8.2.1 Voltage at AC power port
During the test, the EUT shall operate at the rated voltage specified for the equipment.
For single-phase equipment with a rated voltage within the following ranges.
---100 V ~ 127 V. the test shall be performed at a nominal voltage within this range. The recommended test voltage is 120 V.
---200 V ~ 240 V. the test shall be performed at a nominal voltage within this range. The recommended test voltage is 220 V.
---100 V ~ 240 V. the test shall be performed at a nominal voltage within the 100 V ~ 127
V range or the 200 V ~ 240 V range. However, the user of this document may specify that the equipment undergoes two tests. one at a nominal voltage within the 100 V ~
127 V range and one at a nominal voltage within the 200 V ~ 240 V range. This decision shall be recorded in the test report.
Where applicable, the above requirements also apply to the AC power port of the EPS.
Multi-phase equipment shall be tested using the same principles as described above.
For three-phase equipment with a rated voltage within the following ranges.
---200 V ~ 240 V. the test shall be performed at a nominal voltage within this range. The recommended test voltage is 220 V;
---380 V ~ 450 V. the test shall be performed at a nominal voltage within this range. The recommended test voltage is 380 V.
8.2.2 AC power port frequency
During testing, the EUT shall operate at the rated frequency specified for the equipment.
If the equipment has more than one rated frequency (e.g., 50 Hz and/or 60 Hz), the EUT shall be tested at only one of these frequencies.
If the equipment has a rated frequency range (e.g., 50 Hz to 60 Hz), the EUT shall be tested at a frequency within that range.
8.3 DC Power Supply
8.3.1 Battery operation
When testing a battery operated EUT, the type of battery used, and its connection shall comply with the provisions of the instructions for use. If the instructions specify batteries with different ratings, it is advisable to use the battery with the maximum capacity [e.g., in ampere-hours (Ah)].
At the start of each test, a fully charged battery shall be used. During testing, the battery condition shall be sufficient to maintain normal operating conditions.
If the battery is charged via an AC power source, the equipment shall be considered mains operated equipment when operating in this mode.
8.3.2 DC power supply (non-battery)
During testing, the EUT shall operate using a typical power source at the rated voltage specified for the DC operated equipment.
DC operated equipment designed to operate with a specific DC power supply unit (e.g., an EPS) shall be tested using the DC power supply unit specified or recommended in the instructions for use. If no DC power supply unit is specified or recommended in the instructions for use, or if one is not provided for the test, a typical power source capable of delivering the equipment’s rated voltage and current shall be used. The selected typical power source shall be adequate to meet the EUT’s specifications and shall meet the performance criteria of this document when operating in conjunction with DC operated equipment.
