1 Scope

GB/T 46503-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the domestic coffee machine - the brewing temperature and the extraction, the pump pressure for espresso, the milk system and its cleaning, the descaling, the food contact materials and the scald and pressure hazards. First edition, in force from 1 May 2026. Issued on 5 October 2025, it has been in force since 1 May 2026.

This document specifies the classification, technical requirements, inspection rules, and marking and packaging of coffee machines for household and similar purposes (hereinafter referred to as "equipment"). The requirements for loading, transportation, and storage are described, along with the corresponding test methods. This document applies to single-phase appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 250V, and other appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 480V for household and similar applications. This document pertains to the production, inspection, and sale of coffee machines. The coffee machines covered in this document must at least have the function of making espresso. This document does not apply to coffee machines and capsule coffee machines used outdoors.

3.1 coffee maker Equipment for making coffee extract.

Note. The following coffee extract is referred to as "coffee".

3.2 Integrating functions such as grinding, tamping, extraction, and residue removal, it can automatically complete the entire coffee-making process from coffee beans to coffee through preset programs.
