Scope
GB 25972-2024 is the English-translated version of 气体灭火系统及部件.
GB 25972-2024 specifies the requirements, flow design calculation and verification, inspection rules, instructions for use, agent filling, packaging, transport and storage of gas fire extinguishing systems and their components, from container assemblies, container valves, nozzles, selector and check valves, manifolds and connecting pipes to actuating and control devices, pressure reducing devices, low venting high close valves, supports and hangers, status sensor units, data transfer units and pressure relief devices in protected areas.
It applies to the design, manufacture and inspection of systems using heptafluoropropane (HFC227ea) and other chemically synthesized agents and inert gas systems using IG-01, IG-100, IG-55 and IG-541, and not to halon, high and low pressure carbon dioxide, suspended or cabinet units.
Systems work between 0 °C and +50 °C, discharge within 10 s (chemical agents) or 60 s (inert gases), offer automatic, manual and mechanical emergency actuation with an adjustable 0 s to 30 s delay, and carry model designations such as QMQ4.2/90N; Clause 6 sets out the test methods (6.1 to 6.68) and 27 annexes cover component designation, pressure determination at different fill densities, extinguishing concentrations and the test sequence and sample quantity for each component.
It replaces GB 25972-2010, adding external stored pressure systems, status monitoring with SSU and DTU, noise-reducing nozzles, seismic supports and hangers, flow design calculation, pressure relief devices in protected areas and packaging, transport and storage requirements.
Issued on 28 November 2024, in force from 1 December 2025. Classification: ICS 13.220.10, CCS C83. The document runs to 111 pages, delivered complete in English translation.
