---Added the terms "centralized pressure-reducing type fire-fighting gas pressure-pressurized water supply equipment", "decentralized pressure-reducing type fire-fighting gas pressure-pressurized water supply equipment", and "gas shut-off equipment". 1 Scope

GB 27898.4-2025 is the Chinese national standard on fixed water supply equipment used for fire-protection - part 4: gas driven fixed water supply equipment used for fire-protection, in the field of environment and health protection, safety. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 31 October 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and takes effect on 1 November 2026. 3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 In fire-fighting operation, compressed gas is depressurized and then injected into the pressure water tank, displacing the fire-fighting water stored in the tank, and filling it with the rated water within a specified time. Water supply equipment that supplies fire-fighting water to the fire-fighting pipeline network under working pressure.

Note. It is usually composed of components such as a pressure tank and accessories, a pressure stabilizing pump set, a top pressure system, pipeline valves and accessories, measuring and control instruments, and a control cabinet.

3.2 gas driven system In fire-fighting gas pressurized water supply equipment, the general term refers to the components related to the storage, monitoring, pressure reduction, and release of compressed gas.

3.3 The compressed gas in the top-pressure system is collected from the gas storage cylinder group and then concentrated and depressurized before being filled into the pressure water tank. This is a fire-fighting gas top-pressure water supply equipment.
