Scope
GB 12514.4-2006 is the English-translated version of 消防接口 第4部分：螺纹式消防接口型式和基本参数.
GB 12514.4-2006 is Part 4 of the four-part Chinese national standard on fire couplings and specifies the patterns, specifications and basic parameters of screw-type fire couplings used in fire water supply systems: suction hose couplings (type KG), blank caps (KA) and same-type couplings (KT).
It covers nominal diameters of 90, 100, 125 and 150 mm at nominal pressures of 1.0 MPa and 1.6 MPa, for water, and three figures fix the structure of each type.
A dimension table gives the basic dimensions: the bore d of the suction hose coupling (103 mm to 163 mm), the connecting threads M125×6, M150×6 and M170×6, minimum lengths L, the length L1 of 24 mm and the square outline L0 from 140×140 to 190×190 mm; untoleranced dimensions follow the coarse class c of GB/T 1804-2000 and a marking method is defined (for example KG100); clauses 4 and 5 are mandatory.
Together with Parts 1, 2 and 3 it replaces GB 12514-1990 (performance requirements and test methods for fire couplings) and GB 3265-1995 (snap-type fire couplings).

GB 12514 Fire coupling is divided into 4 parts:
- Part 1: General technical requirements for fire couplings;
- Part 2: Patterns and basic parameters for fire snap-type couplings;
- Part 3: Patterns and basic parameters for fire insertion-type couplings;
- Part 4: Patterns and basic parameters for fire screw-type couplings.
This part is Part 4 of GB 12514.
This part, together with GB 12514.1, GB 12514.2 and GB 12514.3, replaces the former national standards GB 12514-1990 Performance requirements and test methods for fire couplings and GB 3265-1995 Snap-type fire couplings.
This part was proposed by the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China.
This part is under the jurisdiction of Subcommittee 5 of the National Technical Committee for Fire Protection Standardization.
