1 Scope

GB/T 15566.1-2020 is the Chinese national standard on public information guidance system - setting principles and requirements - part 1: general principles, in the field of generalities, terminology and documentation. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. This part of GB/T 15566 stipulates the composition of the public information guidance system, the general setting principles and requirements, the specific setting requirements of each guidance element. This part applies to the setting of public information guidance systems in public places such as civil airports, railway passenger stations, public transport stations, shopping market places, medical sites, sport places, hotels, parks, tourist attractions, parking lots, street blocks, etc. This part does not apply to the setting of emergency guidance systems and road traffic guidance systems, nor does it apply to the setting of dynamic information systems mainly composed of electronic display screens.

3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 15565 apply to this document.

4 Composition of public information guidance system

4.1 Overview The public information guidance system can usually be divided into several sub- guidance systems; each sub-guidance system can be further divided into several different types of guidance elements.

4.2 Sub-guidance system Dividing the sub-guidance system helps to refine the setting of the public information guidance system. The following aspects should be considered when dividing the sub-guidance system:

a) Personnel flow direction: The sub-guidance system can be divided according to different person flow directions;

b) Activity area: The sub-guidance system can be divided according to the different activity areas of the personnel;

Note 1: It is suitable for public facilities with clear and specific spatial divisions. For example, the station plaza, station building and platform of a railway passenger station can be divided into different sub-guidance systems.

c) Guidance object: The sub-guidance system can be divided according to the corresponding guidance elements which are used by the different guidance objects.

Note 2: Applicable to the situation where different guidance objects share the same space area, for example, in a motor vehicle parking lot, the sub-guidance system can be divided according to the different needs of walking observers and driving observers.
