1 Scope

This standard specifies the general outline and structure definitions for measuring contact surface roughness and waviness (stylus) instruments.

The standard also specifies the characteristics of the instrument outline assessment and provide contact (stylus) instruments (meter contour and contour recorder) of Basic technical specifications.

This standard applies to the assessment of the actual profile of stylus instruments, to make the existing national standards can be used to assess the actual profile.
