GB/T 1034-2008 is the English-translated version of 塑料吸水性的测定.

GB/T 1034-2008 — This standard specifies the determination of flat or curved shape of the solid plastic water absorption method in the thickness direction. This standard also specifies that when the sample is immersed in water or under certain conditions of humidity, water absorption plastic measuring predetermined sample size.

Single- phase material is assumed to have a constant Fick diffusion behavior of water absorption by the sample thickness direction, the direction can be determined by the thickness of the moisture diffusion coefficient.

The model of homogeneous material and reinforced polymeric materials below the glass transition temperature of the test is valid. However, some two-phase base material, such as epoxy curing may require multiphase absorption model, not included in the scope of this standard.
