GB/T 46830.2-2026 is the English-translated version of 塑料　液晶聚合物（LCP）模塑和挤出材料　第2部分：试样制备和性能测定.

GB/T 46830.2-2026 describes how test specimens of liquid crystal polymer (LCP) moulding and extrusion materials are prepared and conditioned, and which methods are used to determine their properties.

Specimens are injection moulded in accordance with GB/T 17037.1 after drying the material to a moisture content of no more than 0.01 %, under set conditions (cycle time 30 ± 5 s, average injection velocity 150 to 600 mm/s, mould temperature 90 ± 5 °C, melt temperature within ±20 °C of the melting point), with a small gate recommended because of the shear sensitivity of LCP, and are then conditioned for at least 12 h at (23 ± 2) °C and (50 ± 10) % relative humidity.

Two tables set out the properties to be measured and the test conditions: the general mechanical, thermal, electrical and other properties taken from GB/T 19467.1 (tensile, flexural and Charpy impact properties, melting temperature, deflection temperature under load, burning behaviour, permittivity, resistivity, electric strength, tracking index, water absorption, density), and additional properties of particular significance for LCP such as ash, coefficient of linear thermal expansion, oxygen index and exposure to laboratory light sources.
