1 Foreword

JB/T 12174.2-2015 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 30 April 2015 and has been in force since 1 October 2015.

It is one of 5 parts of the JB/T 12174 series.

2 Scope

This standard is the test methods part of the recommended Chinese machinery industry standard on heat-shrinkable moulded shapes. It prescribes the tests to be carried out on these products, which come in various forms and materials and are used on connectors and cable terminations and for insulation, sealing, mechanical protection and strain relief. The tests serve to control the quality and the design of a moulded shape, and the text notes that they do not fully establish the suitability of shapes that are impregnated or otherwise prepared for a particular application, so supplementary testing may be needed. It is an identical adoption of IEC 62329-2-2006. Among the standards it quotes are GB/T 1034-2008, GB/T 1408.1-2006, GB/T 2406.2-2009, GB/T 5169.16-2008, GB/T 6553-2014, GB/T 11026.4-2012, JB/T 12174.1-2015, IEC 60754-1-1994 and ISO 846-1997.
