Foreword

This Document was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for

Standardization – Part 1.Rules for the Structure and Drafting of Standardizing Documents.

This Document is Part 1 of GB/T 6003 Test Sieves – Technical Requirements and Testing. GB/T

6003 has published the following parts.

--- Part 1.Test Sieves of Metal Wire Cloth;

--- Part 2.Test Sieves of Perforated Metal Plate;

--- Part 3.Test Sieves of Electroformed Sheets.

This Document replaced GB/T 6003.1-2012 Test Sieves – Technical Requirements and Testing

– Part 1.Test Sieves of Metal Wire Cloth. Compared with GB/T 6003.1-2012, the major

technical changes of this Document are as follows besides the structural adjustments and

editorial modifications.

--- Delete the relevant provisions of "unit" (see 4.2 of 2012 Edition);

--- Change the relevant provisions of aperture size deviation, aperture size limit deviation,

average aperture size deviation and maximum standard deviation (see 5.1.1 of this

Edition; 5.1.1 of 2012 Edition);

--- Increase the description and calculation formula of the maximum standard deviation sigma0

(see 5.1.1.4 of this Edition);

--- Change the expression of the predicted standard deviation value; and change the

"predicted standard deviation value" into "the estimated standard deviation value" (see

1 Scope

This Document specifies the technical requirements and corresponding test methods for test

sieves of metal wire cloth.

It applies to test sieves having aperture sizes from 125 mm down to 20µm, in accordance with

GB/T 6005-2008.

through reference in this Document. For the dated documents, only the versions with the dates

indicated are applicable to this Document; for the undated documents, only the latest version

(including all the amendments) is applicable to this Document.

3 Terms and Definitions

For the purposes of this Document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 5329 and the

following apply.

5 Metal Wire Cloth

The aperture size deviation and metal wire diameter shall comply with the provisions of Tables

1 and 2.

View the wire cloth against a uniformly illuminated background. If obvious deviations from

uniformity of appearance are found, for example, weaving defects, creases and wrinkles, the

sieve is unacceptable.

The manufacturer may provide, at the specific request of the purchaser, a test sieve inspection

certificate stating the values for the average aperture size, separately in both the warp and weft

direction of the wire cloth; the minimum number of the measured aperture can refer to Table 4,

Column 2.

6 Test Sieve Frames

It is recommended that the 200 mm round metal frame be used as far as possible, especially for

metal wire cloth of basic aperture size up to 4 mm.

Smaller or larger frames may be appropriate for smaller or larger quantities of material to be

sieved.

7 Marking of Test Sieves

The test sieve shall be provided with fix and clear nameplate stating the following contents.
