Scope
GB/T 41741-2022 is the English-translated version of 凹凸棒石黏土分级及测试方法.
GB/T 41741-2022 sets out how attapulgite clay is graded and tested. It specifies the grading by dynamic viscosity, by decolorization rate and by chemical composition, the sampling requirements and the grading report, and applies to the grading and testing of natural attapulgite clays.
Attapulgite is defined in the document as a hydrous magnesium-rich aluminosilicate clay mineral with a layered chain structure, and an example of its X-ray diffraction pattern is given as a figure.
The sampling and the determinations rest on the standards it cites: GB/T 6003.1 for test sieves, GB/T 6678 for the sampling of chemical products, GB/T 6682 for laboratory water, GB/T 8170 for rounding and limit values and GB/T 14506.1 for adsorbed water. Issued on 14 October 2022, it has applied since 1 February 2023.
