Scope
GB/T 210-2022 is the English-translated version of 工业碳酸钠.
GB/T 210-2022 is the Chinese national standard for industrial sodium carbonate, soda ash.
It gives the classification, the requirements - the grades and the limits on total alkali, sodium chloride, iron, water insolubles, loss on ignition and moisture, and the particle size where it matters - the test methods, the inspection rules and the provisions on marking, packaging, transport and storage.
It applies to the industrial sodium carbonate made from salt or trona by the ammonia-soda process, the combined alkali process or another route, the product used in glass, metallurgy, paper, dyeing, detergents and petrochemicals.
Soda ash works and their customers use it. It replaces GB 210.1-2004, was issued on 15 April 2022 and has applied since 1 November 2022.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.
This document replaces GB/T 210.1-2004 "Industrial sodium carbonate and its test methods - Part 1: Industrial sodium carbonate" and GB/T 210.2- 2004 "Industrial sodium carbonate and its test methods - Part 2: Industrial sodium carbonate test method", and GB/T 210.1-2004 and Compared with GB/T 210.2-2004, in addition to structural adjustment and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) Changed the requirements for the iron content index of Class I, Class II first-class products and qualified products (see 6.2, 4.2 of GB/T 210.1-2004 edition);
b) Deleted the requirement for sulfate index of Class II superior products (4.2 of GB/T 210.1-2004 edition);
c) An automatic potentiometric titrator is added to the chloride content determination method (see 7.4.1.3);
d) Inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry has been added to the iron content determination method (see 7.5.2);
e) In the determination method of water-insoluble matter, the microporous filtration membrane method was added, and the test paper method was deleted (see 7.7.2, GB/T 210.2-2004 edition). 3.7.4.2).
1 Scope
This document specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of industrial sodium carbonate.
