1 Scope

GB/T 32151.4-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering the carbon accounting of an aluminium smelter - the electricity, which dominates everything, the carbon anodes consumed, and the perfluorocarbons released during anode effects, which are thousands of times more potent than CO2 and are peculiar to this industry. Part 4 of the series. It replaces GB/T 32151.4-2015, and aluminium is one of the sectors entering China's emissions trading scheme. It was issued on 28 January 2026 and has been in force since 1 August 2026, replacing GB/T 32151.4-2015. The document is under the responsibility of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.
