Scope

GB 19105-2003 is the English-translated version of 过氧乙酸包装要求.

GB 19105-2003 specifies the requirements, performance tests and inspection rules for packaging containers used for peroxyacetic acid (peracetic acid), and applies to the packing of peroxyacetic acid; it adopts non-equivalently the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods - Model Regulations (12th revised edition), with fully consistent technical content on this substance, and Clauses 3, 4 and 5 and Annex A are mandatory.

Permitted packagings are plastics drums or jerricans of up to 60 L and combination packagings of plastics bottles in fibreboard boxes of up to 50 kg net, bearing the UN packaging mark and meeting Packing Group II requirements, with closures that retain the stabilizer and vents that relieve oxygen pressure without leaking.

The performance tests cover the drop test (98% filled with antifreeze water, conditioned to -18 °C, 1.2 m drop, orientations per Table 1), the gas-tightness test (20 kPa under water for 5 min), the hydraulic pressure test (100 kPa for 30 min) and the stacking test (3 m stack height, P = ((H - h)/h) × m, 24 h, 28 days at 40 °C for plastics), plus a six-month compatibility test when the plastics grade changes.

Inspection rules set inspection periods of 1, 3 and 6 months, a packaging validity of 12 months from manufacture and 6 months after filling, and normative Annex A gives the rules of use: filling below 98%, GB 190 organic peroxide and corrosive labels, GB 15258 safety labels and cool, ventilated storage.

This is the first edition. Issued on 16 May 2003, in force since 15 June 2003. Classification: ICS 71.060.50, CCS G12. The document runs to 7 pages, delivered complete in English translation.
