Scope

GB/T 2040-2017 is the English-translated version of 铜及铜合金板材.

GB/T 2040-2017 is the Chinese product standard for wrought copper and copper alloy sheets for general purpose. It sets the requirements for designation, temper state and size, chemical composition, dimensions and their allowable deviations, and the product marking.

It gives the test methods for chemical composition, tensile properties, bend test, grain size, electrical resistivity and surface quality, citing GB/T 228.1, GB/T 232, GB/T 5121 and related methods.

The inspection rules cover acceptance by the supplier, batching, inspection items, sampling and how failed results are retested. It also deals with marking, packaging, transportation, storage, the quality certificate and what an order or contract must state.

It is used by sheet producers, buyers and inspection bodies. It replaces GB/T 2040-2008, was issued on 31 May 2017 and has applied since 1 December 2017.

3 Requirements

3.1 Product classification

3.1.1 Designation, state and specification

The designation, state and specification of sheets shall comply with the provisions of Table 1.

3.1.2 Marking example

The product marking is expressed in the sequence of product name, standard number, designation (or code name), state and specification. The marking example is as follows. […]

3.2 Chemical composition

The chemical composition of HSn88-1 sheets shall comply with the provisions of Table 2, the chemical composition of sheets of other designations shall comply with the provisions for the corresponding designations in GB/T 5231.

3.3 Dimension and its allowable deviation

The dimension and its allowable deviation of sheets shall comply with the corresponding provisions in GB/T 17793.

4 Test method

4.1 Chemical composition

The analysis method for the chemical composition of sheets shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 5121 (all parts) or YS/T 482 or YS/T 483, and the arbitration shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 5121 (all parts).

4.3 Mechanical properties

The tensile test method for sheets shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 228.1-2010.

The tensile test samples shall comply with the P02 sample number in Table B.1 of Annex B, as well as the P09 sample number in Table D.2 of Annex D, GB/T 228.1 […]

4.4 Bend test

The bend test method for sheets shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 232.
