GB/T 3543.2-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering drawing the sample that a seed lot will be judged on — the triers and dividers, the number of primary samples and how they are combined into the submitted sample, the reduction to the working sample, the maximum lot weight and minimum sample weight for each crop species, the heterogeneity test on multi-container lots by H value and R value, and the paperwork behind a lot inspection report. Every other part of the series tests what this one collected. Part 2 of the series. It replaces GB/T 3543.2-1995, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. In force from 1 September 2025. Issued on 28 February 2025, it has been in force since 1 September 2025, replacing GB/T 3543.2-1995.

Introduction
Seed quality has many verifiable cultivation values, forming the currently recognized sowing quality, variety quality, and health quality.

1 Scope

3.1 Seed batch
3.1.1 seedlot
Seeds that are physically uniform, uniquely identified, and within a specified weight.
Note. The portion of seeds whose weight is not less than 20% of the original seed batch and whose container markings are consistent with the original seed batch markings are called secondary seed batches.
3.1.2 small seed lot
Seed lots of high value seeds where obtaining the required number of samples for testing will have a significant impact on the quantity of the remaining seed lot.
Note. High-value seeds include, but are not limited to, hybrid vegetable seeds sold by the kernel, or seeds that are not commercially circulated but are used for research or advanced generation propagation.
3.2 Container
