This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part

1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting. This document is Part 1 of GB 4404 "Grain Crop Seeds". GB 4404 has been published in the following parts.

1 Scope

GB 4404.1-2024 is the Chinese national standard on seed of food crops - part 1: cereals, in the field of agriculture. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 28 October 2024 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 October 2025. Classification: ICS 65.020.01, CCS B22. The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Basicseed Seeds of the first to third generation propagated from breeder seeds and confirmed to meet specified quality requirements.

3.2 Qualifiedseed for field use Seeds of the first to third generation or hybrids propagated from original seeds, which are confirmed to meet the specified quality requirements.
