Scope

GB/T 19557.15-2018 is the English-translated version of 植物品种特异性、一致性和稳定性测试指南高粱.

GB/T 19557.15-2018 is the Chinese guideline for testing whether a sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) variety is distinct, uniform and stable (the DUS test).

It sets out the conditions the propagating material must meet, the test method, how the results for distinctness, uniformity and stability are judged, the table of characteristics and the grouping characteristics, and the technical questionnaire filled in by the applicant.

It defines the recording methods it uses - group measurement, individual measurement and group visual observation - and the symbols for the kinds of trait: qualitative, pseudo-qualitative and quantitative.

Annexes give the sorghum characteristics table, its explanations and the questionnaire. It is used by variety testing centres and breeders. It was issued on 14 May 2018 and has applied since 1 December 2018.
