This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document is Part 2 of GB 4404 "Seeds of Grain Crops". GB 4404 has the following parts published.

1 Scope

GB 4404.2-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering the grades of legume seed - the varietal purity, the germination, the cleanliness and the moisture that a lot must meet before it may be sold as seed rather than as grain. A mandatory standard. It replaces GB 4404.2-2010 and takes effect on 1 April 2027. It was issued on 31 March 2026 and takes effect on 1 April 2027, replacing GB 4404.2-2010. The Seed Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates that seeds whose quality is "lower than the national standards" or "lower than the indicators indicated on the label" are considered inferior. 5 Test methods

5.1 Variety purity The method for testing the purity of a variety shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 3543.5.

5.2 Clarity The method for testing purity shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 3543.3.

5.3 Germination rate The germination rate test method shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 3543.4.

5.4 Moisture The method for testing moisture content shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 3543.6.

5.5 Authenticity of Genetically Modified Varieties The method for verifying the authenticity of genetically modified varieties shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 3543.12.

5.6 Transgenic purity of varieties The testing method for the purity of genetically modified varieties shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 3543.12.

6 Inspection Rules

6.1 Sampling The sampling method and seed batch determination shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 3543.2.
