1 Scope

GB 20464-2024 is the Chinese mandatory standard for labelling agricultural crop seed. The seed label is the entire basis on which a farmer buys: the germination rate, the purity, the moisture and the variety cannot be verified at the point of sale, and a mislabelled lot is discovered a season later when the crop fails, which is why seed labelling is regulated by mandatory standard and enforced. 3 Terms and definitions
