Foreword

All technical contents of this part of GB 4404 are mandatory.

GB 4404 Seed of food crops is divided into the following parts:

- Part 1: Cereals;

- Part 2: Legume;

- Part 3: Buckwheat;

- Part 4: Oats;

- ...

This part is Part 2 of GB 4404. This part replaces GB 4404.2-1996 Seed of food crops - Legume and GB 4404.3-1999 Seed of food crops - Adzuki bean and mung bean.

Compared with GB 4404.2-1996 and GB 4404.3-1999, the main changes in this part are as follows:

- the scope of application has been clarified;

- the terms and definitions have been revised;

- the requirements for purity and moisture of soybean seed have been modified;

- the requirements for purity of broad bean, adzuki bean and mung bean seed have been modified;

- the referenced provisions on packaging, transport and storage have been deleted;

- the inspection rules have been revised.

This part was proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China.

This part is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee on Crop Seeds of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 37).
