Scope
GB/T 40137-2021 is the English-translated version of 太子参种子、种根.

1 Scope
This document specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, storage and packaging of the seeds and roots of Radix Pseudostellariae.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Pseudostelariaradix
The dried roots of the caryophyllaceae plant Haier ginseng [Pseudostellariaheterophylla (Miq.) PaxexPaxet Hoffm.].
3.2 Pseudostellaria seeds
The inner seeds of Pseudostellaria chinensis produced by sexual reproduction.
3.3 Pseudostellaria radix
The fresh roots of Taizi ginseng used to reproduce offspring.
3.4 The maximum diameter of tuber
The diameter of the thickest part of the root of P. sylvestris.

Reed bud-tips The adventitious buds at the top of the root tuber of Radix Pseudostellariae.
