GB/T 40136-2021 is the English-translated version of 太子参种植技术规范.
GB/T 40136-2021 is a technical specification for growing pseudostellaria radix, the medicinal root of Pseudostellaria. It sets the requirements for the production area, which should be away from pollution sources and meet GB 15618 for soil, GB 3095 for air and GB 5084 for irrigation water.

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.
1 Scope
This document stipulates the terms and definitions of Pseudostellaria sylvestris planting, production environment, planting technology and file management.
This document is applicable to the cultivation of Pseudostellaria chinensis.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 40137 are applicable to this document.
4 Production area environment
4.1 The planting base should be far away from pollution sources such as industrial and mining enterprises, hospitals, garbage dumps, livestock farms, main roads, residential areas and so on.
4.2 The soil environmental quality should meet the requirements of GB 15618.
4.3 The air quality should meet the requirements of GB 3095.
4.4 The quality of irrigation water should meet the requirements of GB 5084.
5 Planting technology
5.1 Site selection
Choose the soil that is fertile, loose, rich in humus, convenient for irrigation and drainage, the thickness of the soil layer is more than 40cm, the slope is below 35°, and the pH is 6.0~6.5 sandy loam. Rotation should be implemented according to the actual conditions of the farming system in different producing areas, and the previous crop should not be selected as Solanaceae or Cruciferae. 5.2 Site preparation
15 days before planting, apply base fertilizer. Turn the soil to a depth of 15cm~20cm, and harrow the topsoil.
